The Alagoa is a Guesthouse adjacent to the hamlet of Betalbatim. Initially only 12 rooms, now with the addition of a new block with another 24 rooms. Surrounded by coconut groves and Paddy fields, it is a wonderfully,
peaceful location and an ideal choice for those looking for relaxation. The open-air restaurant and bar serves International, Goan and Indian
cuisine. Access to the beach is along a track through the coconut grove approximately 600mtrs where there are beach shacks and lovely lonely
stretches of beach where it is easy to find your own space.
The spacious rooms are simply furnished
with twin beds, ceiling fans and en-suite SH&WC and most are overlooking the Paddy fields. Board is offered on Bed and Continental breakfast basis.

This is not the plushest hotel imaginable but it is one of the friendliest with a fantastic location if you want some peace and quiet. Not too many beach shacks yet and not too many people, but the area is idyllic and gives you everything you could want to be able to switch off from the stress of UK life. Everything in this country is very different and this is a great base if you want some honest unspoiled relaxation. On the other hand - please don't believe me. I really don't want this place to get too well known!

The location of the hotel was beautiful. The wildlife amazing and the nearby beach peaceful and relaxing...HOWEVER
the electrics were dangerous (showers gave electric shocks on a regular basis - electrician was the cook as far as we could see !), you have to pay extra for A/C and boy do you need it in April, the food was always slow in coming and they never had certain dishes on menu, the complimentry breakfast was eggs and more eggs and then eggs again, the waiters watched telly more than they served, BUT somehow I liked the place. It gave you an insight into what it's like living in India. Kind of crazy but fun...

Resort : Betalbatim Beach
Description : Betalbatim Beach is the beach directly north of Colva, an approximate 15 minutes walk, and dominated by the Nanu Resort.
The beach here has several beach shacks (we counted 8 on our most recent visit), increasing as you get closer to Colva.
This is still a relatively peaceful beach and is great for an afternoon stroll along the shore.
Dolphins and birds of prey are often sighted here and everyone is friendly, that’s why it is so popular with our guests and people visit year in and year out.

Lovely place for a peaceful relaxed holiday. Beach is beautiful and the shacks are great value.
Joel's beach shack is our favourite and Deepak the owner is a great host and mine of information. Stayed at Nanu Hotel great staff and nice pool and grounds. Going again in 8 weeks 25th March 2007 can't wait, even thinking of looking at property to buy.

The Nanu is O.K., but has no "service" , i,e,no shop worth the name, no hairdresser, etc. But is clean, and the breakfast (not the supper) is good.
As for "Beach Shacks", far the best is the "Sea Waves". Very reasonable prices (including wine).
John, Simon and Natti are most helpful and friendly,the food is outstanding (not like the
Nanu). The only problem is that it all takes a long time to come. But, if you like looking out o sea... You can also smoke...

Hi I have stayed with Rita and Bob they have first class apartments
at lovers beach, Betalbatim South Goa the amenities are as follows:
1. Air condition.
2. Filter water
3. Luxury bedroom with fitted wardrobes with matching side tables
luxury bed large bedroom with air con.
4. Luxury fitted kitchen with washing machine large fridge as
quoted filter water a must.
5. Luxury furniture in the lounge large settee with 2 matching
armchairs, plus glass dinning room suite. Glass coffee table
matching TV cabinet for TV.
6. Internet wireless is provided which is a must so that you can
keep in contact with your family back home on skype a must.
7. I would highly recommend this apartment as this is classed
as 5 star, the couple are fantastic nothing is too much trouble
also a car can be provided for your stay.
8. For 2 week stay £300
For 3 week stay £450
For 4 week stay £500
