This wonderfully simple, family guesthouse is delightfully less than three minutes' walk from the golden sands of Candolim Beach. For beach lovers it is an ideal base. Nearby are many stalls, shops and restaurants and on the beach itself, many shacks from which to claim a sunbed and umbrella for the day for the price of a few drinks and a snack. The guesthouse has a small bar and restaurant, and this is its allure. The food is cooked by Maria and her daughters, Sharon and Veronica. Cymbeline and John Gaynor from Hoddesdon, like us, loved the food and we can honestly say it was one of our best meals in North Goa.
The twin rooms have an en-suite shower & WC, ceiling fan and some have a small balcony or terrace. All rooms are offered on a Bed & Continental Breakfast basis. Safety deposit boxes and a laundry service are available (payable locally), whilst fridges are on request, subject to availability and payable locally. The Ave Maria is ideal for people who just want to 'chill out' and enjoy seeing the world going by.
12 rooms on 2 floors.

Review Title : ava maria ii Your Rating 1 Stars. Made By hill on 19/03/2008
we have just returned from goa and stayed at the ava maria 11 guesthouse,to say it was basic is an understatement, the place was filthy with rats running about every night, not once in the whole 2weeks staying there did we manage to get 1 hot shower our friends toilet didnt flush for 2 days even though we kept asking them to sort it the owner just isnt interested in her guests,it says a small bar, there wasnt a bar just 3 pieces of old boards put together with a fridge with no drinks in it weknew we were getting basic but this guesthouse is a joke, wedarnt use the pool for fear of the rats being in it we wuoldnt reccomend this place to anyone it is an insult for anyones standards, the resort it self was really nice and vincents shack on the beach has the best bunch of lads who made our holiday so enjoyable i would highly recommend going there.

Resort : Candolim Beach
Description : Candolim Beach is the longest part of this northern stretch and is quieter than Calangute but still is getting busier every year. At this point the beach is as deep as a football pitch, and the beach bars and shacks are set back on the sand dunes. The shacks here have become more sophisticated, each trying to outdo the other with a more interesting design.
One of the most innovative has to be Stringfellos which is designed like watchtowers with seating on several levels and is a great place to watch the world go by whilst enjoying the late afternoon breeze.
Amidst the sunbeds and beach shacks the fishing community have their huts on the beach and still fish as they have always done, most locals eating fish curry and rice on a daily basis. The only difference from their Grandfather’s day is the fact that they have an outboard motor on the back of their ancient craft!

Review Title : great location Your Rating 5 Stars. Made By Marie Crane on 23/08/2008
Love Goa! previously had said there are too many places in the world to go to the same place twice, however was hooked after our first trip and booked for the following year as soon as we arrived home -every year and counting the weeks until we go back agian Dec 13th 08. Stayed in Baga other years but after spending some time in Candolim have booked to go there this year. Great shops, restaurants, pubs and Dreamers beach shack is exactly what its name says it is!

Review Title : Mamma Ceceilia's Beach Bar Your Rating 5 Stars. Made By debbie moore on 21/11/2009
You have just got to get yourself to this Beach Bar. John & Julie are the friendliest people I have ever met her and Deepak must be the best waiter ever, even if he does not speak much. Food is brilliant. Ask John to get the giant prawns. Lovely.
