The Leela Palace is set in extensive lush green grounds and occupies an idyllic location beside a small local village. The hotel offers a luxurious standard of accommodation in Portuguese style villas, which enjoy beautiful views, combined with elegant surroundings and excellent service.

Pavillion rooms have twin beds or a double bed, air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, DVD player, CD player, hairdryer, , full bathroom and balcony or terrace as well as tea and coffee making facilities. Lagoon suites are available at a supplement.

We have been visiting the Leela Palace for many years and we have just returned again. We booked through the excellent website at discovergoa.co.uk .

The Leela Palace is still a great hotel but I have to say that it is beginning to show signs of age and some areas are starting to need some maintenance. Having said all that, the staff, the service, the food and the location are still excellent and the hotel provides a superb experience in this wonderful area of Goa.

Accommodation at the Leela Palace is extremely comfortable, well appointed and with superb views of the lagoon. The food at all the restaurants was excellent and, although the menu in the Jamawar restaurant appeared limited for an Indian restaurant in India, the chef will usually cook anything you ask for.

The Leela Palace have their own security staff so you will always feel safe from being harassed by street hawkers and the like. The local shops and restaurants are excellent and the local traders are keen to haggle with you. Buying things in Goa is incredibly cheap and the people are always very friendly.

I was a little disappointed with Mobor Beach. Further up from the hotel it was dirty with washed up litter and so on but outside the hotel it was fine. The bars nearby are also very good.

Resort : Mobor Beach

Description : Mobor Beach is the last section of beach, separated from the next stretch by the River Sal as it meets the Arabian Sea. The beach is wide, the sand yellow, and there are beach shacks selling food. A couple of 4 star hotels are located here including the ‘Holiday Inn’, as well as 5 star ‘The Leela’ and it is a walkable distance (quicker by beach) from Mobor into Cavelossim.

This area attracts lots of dolphins and most of the trips taking holidaymakers to spot them set off from here. If you are into the local wildlife, do go up the River Sal to see the bats, their wing-span can reach up to a metre. This area is stunningly beautiful and should be high on your agenda of places to visit.

I travalled as a single women in Goa for two weeks. I booked into the hotel for a week and managed to get a discount when there. The rooms were very clean adn the staff extremely friendly. The beach is fantastic and you can walk for hours without almost seeing anyone.
The hotel hire bikes very cheaply and you can bike on the beach. Water sports are available and are good value. William the watersports person sits outside teh Leela adn is extremely helpful. There are a few resturants with good food in just outside teh hotel. Hotel food is good and the pool is a good size. Seating and sunbed area is also excellent .
